This position is located in the Field Information Services Section (FIS) within the Information Management Branch of the Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) and is based in Geneva, Switzerland. The Information Management Officer will be responsible for day-to-day management and field support of the humanitarianresponse.info web platform and Humanitarain ID, as well as related platforms and services. The Information Management Officer will report to the head of the Platform and Services Unit.

Within delegated authority, the Information Management Officer will be responsible for the following duties:
1) Coordination:
Works with other OCHA branches and sections, global cluster lead agencies, partner agencies and field offices to ensure the effective adoption and use of information tools and services; engages with counterparts to ensure that information activities are coordinated and consistent with global and national standards and practices; provides training and expertise on the use and development of information management tools and platforms to OCHA staff and humanitarian partners; advocates for the use of data standards and common platforms, and for the open exchange of information.
2) Web Management:
Manages content on HumanitarianResponse.info, Humanitarian ID and other relevant web platforms, provides overall quality control for the services and ensures content is current, comprehensive and follows relevant metadata standards; works with external counterparts on related web platforms such as agency and cluster websites and ReliefWeb to facilitate cross-site search and interoperability.
3) Data Management:
Designs, develops and manages databases, spreadsheets and other data tools; understands, documents, and ensures the quality of high-value humanitarian data for accuracy, consistency and comparability; consolidates operational information on a regular schedule to support analysis.
4) Data Analysis:
Organizes, designs and carries out the evaluation and analysis of platform use, performance and analytics; participates in the development and revision of data standards and advises on the application of these standards into systems and processes; understands, documents and ensures the quality of high-value humanitarian data and information for accuracy, consistency and comparability.
5) Visualization and Communications:
Produces and updates information products such as reports, charts and infographics by turning data into graphical products to convey messages and a story-line; develops advocacy materials including social media posts, posters, presentations and other visual materials.
6) Performs other related duties, as required.

專業(yè)要求
Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in information management, information systems, social science or related field. A first-level university degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying work experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
工作經(jīng)驗
A minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in information management, information systems, web management, data management, Geographic Information System (GIS) & mapping, data visualization, or other related area, is required. Experience in managing information in disaster response or complex emergencies is desirable. Experience with the UN system is desirable.
語言要求
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For the post advertised, fluency in English is required. Knowledge of French is desirable.
