The United Nations Environment Programme (UN Environment) is the leading global environmental authority that sets the global environmental agenda, promotes the coherent implementation of the environmental dimension of sustainable development within the United Nations system and serves as an authoritative advocate for the global environment. The overall objective of the UN Environment’s Economy Division is to encourage decision makers in government, local authorities and industry to develop and adopt policies, strategies and practices and technologies that promote sustainable patterns of consumption and production, make efficient use of natural resources, ensure safe management of chemicals and contribute to making trade and environment policies mutually supportive. The Division promotes the development, use and transfer of policies, technologies, economic instruments, managerial practices and other tools that assist in environmentally sound decision making and the building of corresponding activities (http://www.unep.fr/). The position is located in the Economy Division, Energy and Climate Branch, Paris duty station. Under the supervision of Project Manager, Supported United for Efficiency (U4E), the incumbent is responsible for:
工作內(nèi)容
Management and Administration
a) Develop financing proposals from funding organizations and financial institutions to support the global, regional and national market transformation to energy efficient lighting, appliances and equipment.
b) Maintain existing and developing additional partnerships with manufacturing partners, financial institutions, and environmental organizations.
c) Developing partnership terms for United for Efficiency (U4E) project partnerships, stipulating the benefits (use of the U4E brand, participation in events, etc.) provided for the level of contribution (both in-direct and direct contributions).
d) Develop regular, high-quality, substantive communications with current and prospective donors, with a view to increasing their involvement in energy efficient technology development and transfer.
e) Prepare and/or reviewing reporting to the Global Environment Facility including co-financing contributions from U4E partners.
f) Coordinate the participation of high-level participants from partner organizations to represent U4E at global, regional, and national events, including coordination with hosting organizations, developing speaking notes, and writing press releases and news articles.
Support to U4E Activities and Services
a) Oversee the organization and implementation of national/regional training events and workshops, including providing background information and presentations, suggesting priorities for discussion and identifying resource speakers.
b) Identify and establish synergies and collaboration with collaborating centres (e.g. the Global Efficient Lighting Centre), partner organizations and institutions; national focal points; intergovernmental, international, regional and sectoral organizations, financial institutions and initiatives that may contribute to the initiative.
c) Prepare and/or review U4E responses to country requests (email, phone and in-person) to support them in their market transformation to energy efficient lighting, appliances and equipment, which requires liaising with U4E partners for their input and comments.
d)Support the development and dissemination of U4E tools, publications and resources.

專業(yè)要求
Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in public policy, business administration, environmental science, or related area. A first-level university degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
工作經(jīng)驗
A minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in environment, climate change, business administration, knowledge management, international development, communications or a related field. Experience in climate change adaptation and mitigation issues, technology development, deployment and transfer highly desirable. Familiarity with modalities, policies and processes practiced by international agencies, financial institutions, NGOs, government agencies, and international private sector organizations desirable.
語言要求
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For this position advertised, fluency in written and oral English is required. Working knowledge of other official UN
languages is desirable.
